New Year’s Swim Spa Resolutions

After an extraordinary year, we’re all more likely to lean on some new year’s resolutions to make 2021 a little better. If you own a swim spa, or are planning to own a swim spa, you might want to include it in your resolutions. You could wind up with a toned body, healthier mind and better functioning swim spa. To help get you thinking, we’ve put together a list of new year’s swim spa resolutions.

More Exercise

More exercise is one of the most common new year’s resolutions. And if you have a swim spa, it’d be foolish not to include it in your new year’s exercise regime. A good way to go about this is estimate the amount of use that your swim spa currently gets and try to double it. If you’re using your swim spa two or three times a week, it only stands to reason that using it four to six times a week will get your body in even better condition. The exercise will also help clear your mind and ward off anxiety and depression. Get fit while getting more use out of your swim spa.

Add Some Accessories

Adding some accessories to be used with your swim spa can increase its appeal and refresh its allure. Sometimes we get stuck in a rut and don’t appreciate what we have. Adding some extras into the mix can stoke new interest and make the old appear new again.

Accessories can be added into your workout to make it more challenging: weight belts, buoyancy belts and kickboards can all be incorporated into your sessions to burn more energy and improve your physique while making the workout more interesting. Maybe try adding a rowing kit or a swimming tether to add some variation to your workouts.

Practical accessories can make your swim spa more comfortable and easier to use. Something simple like a set of stairs can make entry a whole lot easier. A foot bath will prevent excess dirt from being tracked into the water and cut down on your maintenance duties. A robotic vacuum cleaner will also make keeping the tank clean much easier. If you want to be able to keep better track of the water temperature, there are several different types of floating thermometers to choose from. Practical accessories can be used to help make swim spa ownership less onerous.

There are also plenty of entertainment accessories that can make your time in and around the swim spa more pleasant. Waterproof speakers allow you to listen to music or your favorite podcasts with any worry of ruining the speakers or electrocuting yourself. Mobile phone and tablet seals allow you to safely stay in contact while lounging in or around the water. There’s also a wide array of water games for both kids and adults that can add a whole new dimension to your swim spa use.

Making minor changes in your swim spa habits can make a huge difference when it comes to the duties of keeping your swim spa clean. Resolving to make sure you take a shower every time you plan on using the swim spa will greatly reduce the amount of oils and soap residues that cling to the surfaces of the shell. Making a pact with yourself to make sure you replace the cover whenever the swim spa isn’t being used will reduce the accumulation of airborne contaminants in the water. Promising to stick to your regular maintenance schedule will allow you to keep on top of things and make it easier to keep the water clean and fresh. Doing little bits on a more frequent basis, such as testing the water, cleaning the filters or tackling a deep cleaning will make each job easier and quicker.

Here’s to a happy new year to you and your family and making the most of the year to come! To learn more about swim spas, download a free buyer’s guide.
